{"id":869,"date":"2024-04-01T10:08:44","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T14:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.supremeactofwar.com\/blog\/SawWarDiary.html\/?p=869"},"modified":"2024-04-01T10:08:45","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T14:08:45","slug":"alternative-tech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supremeactofwar.com\/blog\/SawWarDiary.html\/alternative-tech\/","title":{"rendered":"Alternative Tech"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the years go by, and just like most of us have moved on from mainstream news, the more I find myself using alternative tech to escape from the mass manipulation and censorship from companies like google, facebook, microsoft, etc. It&#8217;s often not as convenient as what it replaces, but that&#8217;s not the entire point. <br><br>Replacing google as a search engine is probably the easiest thing you can start with, and there&#8217;s a lot of alternatives (Mojeek, Qwant, Ecosia, Brave etc.) Replacing your browser from a microsoft or google one is equally easy (Brave, Librewolf, Epic, Comodo Dragon, etc.) Things get a bit more tricky at the operating system level of PCs or phones.<br>Google Android and Apple can be replaced with Pinephones or Linux phones, but they&#8217;re currently lacking a large amount of apps. I decided to go the route of a google-free Android called Lineage, it&#8217;s a good mix of functionality, familiarity and lack of google. Took me a few hours to figure out how to install it properly, but I&#8217;m glad I did it.<br><br>To find more choices, <a href=\"http:\/\/alternativeto.net\">http:\/\/alternativeto.net<\/a> is a good place to look.<br><br>What do you guys use?
